HHS Squad after dominating the DHS Rough Riders. The two coaches Brynnan and Rebecca pose up front in their moment of glory after their win.
Did Coach Nelson's email last Friday help the team cope with its grief from the string of recent losses? Missing their wounded but fearless leader, the Pandemics took the field last night hoping that his attempt at group therapy worked. In honor of Coach Nelson, here is this week's recap.
Top 10 Things Coach Nelson Missed while on Vacation
10 - 16 runs (isn't that double what was scored last week?)
9 - On deck: John Poelman. John? John? Oh forget it. Brynn, you're up.
8 - Those hot pink socks! Seriously. Do you think he wears them under his suit?
7 - Fewer errors!! Strong fielding this week. Keep this up and you'll save a clipboard's life.
6 - Pitcher Elizabeth Dixon fielding a ball with her bare hand. (Needless to say, she didn't pitch for the rest of the game.)
5 - Sass scores, Rebecca swoons. (Translation: while running over to congratulate Ray on scoring a run, I was viciously tripped by a water bottle and fell on my butt. Sweet.)
4 - Calls for a coaching change. (I think we have a couple of day before Dick and Prudence notice the new addition www.hhs.gov/cancoachnelson)
3 - Joe McGowan to Ray Sass: "Chicks rule. Don't fight it."
2 - Knowing the other team means it when they say "good game."
1 - The thrill of a 16-9 victory over DHS.
The key to last night’s victory was lots of good hits off the pitcher. I don’t think there was a link section in the batting line-up. Excellent effort by the entire team last night. Drew Smith, if you played a better game this season I wasn’t there for it. Great job Pandemics. It appears that our next game isn’t until July 13.
GO PANDEMICS!!
