HHS Pandemics vs. Commerce Carlito's Way

Pandemics-

Last night the Pandemics squared off against the surging Department of Commerce. Commerce jumped out to an early 12-2 lead after 2 innings, capitalizing on our defensive jitters. Despite being in a deep hole, the mighty Pandemics fought back bringing the score to 9-12 at the end of the 4th inning. Our entire team was hitting the ball very effectively, and tightened up our loose ends on defense. Coming off a nasty Achilles heel injury received in bed, Anand Parekh made his first appearance at pitcher and played an incredible defensive game. Following the 4th Inning, Commerce managed to score several more runs putting the score 19-12 going into the final inning. We managed to knock in a few runs but ended up short, falling to Commerce by the final score: 19-14.

We should hold our heads high by the way we fought our way back into this game against a very good team. We learned how key defense is in this league. If we were able to minimize some of the early defensive errors and overthrows the game would have had a different outcome. Getting into a 12-2 hole after 2 innings is a hard deficit to recover from. Commerce was a great team, and we will get another chance to play them in the playoffs, and we will be ready.

Thanks to everyone for coming out!

GO PANDEMICS!!!
