Grade A Victory over USDA Prime!

THE PANDMICS ARE BACK!!! After being spanked last season by USDA 20-8 the Pandemics were hungry for revenge! The game went back and forth until the last inning when our small but mighty crew rallied to score 5 big runs, giving us the cushion we needed to close the farmers out. Our defense in the final innings was phenomenal and prevented the farmers from planting anything in our field! Final score: HHS PANDMICS: 18, USDA PRIME: 13. What a great start to the season!

Now for the highlights! Several outstanding plays deserve mentioning. Kent Forde blasted a Grand Slam in the 2nd inning…he hit the ball so far, the outfielders couldn’t find it. In the News this morning, GWB reported that a softball was sitting on his desk when he arrived in the Oval this morning. Ben sASPE (Sasse) played a great offensive and defensive game that included a triple ending with a head-first slide into 3rd. Sasse also snagged numerous balls in the outfield, including one while being tackled by muscle man Drew Smith. ‘Go-Go gadget arm’ Ray Sass played a solid first base, not letting one ball get past him. And how can we forget the ladies…The ladies dominated on the bats, recording a better on base percentage than the guys. Rebecca Ayer, Mary Kosinski, Angela Hope, Emily Buell, and Preeya Noronha all managed to not only get on base multiple times, but each of them also crossed home plate! A big “Thank You” goes out to Drew Smith for his ongoing efforts to snag fly balls in all corners of the universe…last night he tried something new…catching a fly ball with his chest, not just once but 3 times. We ask all of you to keep him in your thoughts as he is suffering from softball sized welts on his chest. He has vowed to use his glove going forward.

It was a great victory for the Pandemics! Let’s keep the bug rolling!
